We here at Twilight Notes are not huge dubstep fans, but we have always had a soft spot for Burials dark, shadowy, soulful compositions. Burial's last full album release was "Untrue" in 2008- since then we have been patiently waiting for a sequel and grabbing up all of his collaborations, b-sides, and remixes. Anyway, until that release finally comes here is a small taste from Burial's forthcoming EP. Enjoy.
Bonobo set to release a new collection of remixes from his Black Sands album, released last year on Ninjatune. We have been listening to his records since "Dial M for Monkey," when his sound still being developed. He has gone from Dj Shadow style sample based downtempo/instrumental hip hop to becoming a composer and songwriter, stitching together samples with new compositions and guest musicians and vocalists.

One of our long running favorite bands, The National, have debuted two new songs last week on Q tv at the Glenn Gould studio in Toronto. These songs are true to form, wistful, heavy, emotive- and would sound right at home on Boxer or High Violet. The National have also announced that they are ready to start recording their next album.
We first heard this track on Broke Mogul's How To Make It In America Season Two Mixtape (R.I.P), but it wasn't until recently when we sat and listened to their "On The Water" album that we re-discovered this amazing song and album. With such a steady stream of new indie bands to check out with similar names and even more similar sounds, every so often a great song pops up and sticks around in your head for awhile.
